Hello cultivators!
Last week's end to the campaign was so amazing! We hit some incredible goals (over 800 backers and over $50k raised). I'm so incredibly thankful for your support! I want to share what you can expect from me regarding updates over the next few weeks and months.
What Happens Next?
You can find our timeline graphic on the Kickstarter page, and that lays our the expected timeline of the full project. Here are some other notes:
In about 1-2 more weeks, I'll receive the funds from Kickstarter. Once that arrives, we'll pay a deposit to our manufacturer to begin the production process. We have already approved 90% of the files and are just waiting on a few final proofs which I expect to arrive next week.
I hope to send a survey to our backers soon. This survey will help our team to continue improving our future campaigns and games in general. If you receive this email, I'd be super grateful for your time to complete it.
You can expect to hear an update from me at the end of the month, every month (like today). I'll provide details on everything happening with manufacturing and so on. These updates will also have very important information, so please be sure to check your spam if you do not see an email from me.
Apple Emails
If you used an Apple email for this Kickstarter, please message me and let me know another email to use. Apple emails can be quite difficult to communicate with for pledge managers.
BackerKit Pledge Manager
In May, the BackerKit Pledge Manager will open. You will get an invite from them, (no need to have an account). This will be your opportunity to update your pledge, confirm your address, etc. collect shipping charges, etc. We might not charge shipping right away, and collect that closer to fulfillment. I will have those details once the PM is open soon!
The BackerKit Pledge Manager is required to complete your pledge and get your games to you. Without it, we will not have your mailing address and cannot get shipping, so please be mindful when it opens to go ahead and knock it out! You will be able to update your mailing address closer to fulfillment if you move homes.
Errored Pledges & Charges
I messaged about 60 backers regarding your pledge being errored by Kickstarter. Many have updated payment info and we're only down to around 30 errored pledges. Please check your pledge and make sure your payment info is up to date if you see an error. Kickstarter has likely emailed you already regarding this, and I will send another message reminder to you as well.
Headliner Launches in One Week
Lastly, our next game launches on May 7th!Headliner is a card drafting and set collection game about building a band and stealing the spotlight!
We will have a FREE promo pack of four musician cards for any returning backers. These promo cards are crossover cards between our other titles, including Garden Club and Petal!
We'll also have a pledge tier where you'll be able to add yourself into the game with a custom card!
Headliner will be $25. We'll have a bundle for $30 including a mini-expansion (saving $5 off total MSRP).
We'd love to have your support. I will also be looking into combining shipping for Garden Club and Headliner, so that you have minimal to no additional shipping charges if you backed both games. More to come!
I will be at Geekway to the West in a couple of weeks showing off Garden Club, Petal, and the rest of our catalog. If you'll be there, please swing by the booth and say hello!
That's all for now! Until next time, Kick Back and Play.

– Tue, Apr 21, 2026 at 12:02:28 PM
Hello cultivators!
Since our last update we've unlocked TWO freebies: 1) We hit 600 backers and unlocked a new Tool Card, Kristi's Rake, and 2) We hit $40K raised and unlocked the Tulip Cards for Petal!
If you want a breakdown of the Tulip Cards, check our previous update here. The new Tool Card is named after backer Kristi Byrd who suggestedthe new idea for the rake tool. Thank you, Kristi, and I hope this is a fun surprise for you 🌸.
Next Stretch Goal - Master Gardener Mode
In the Master Gardener game mode, players will now have seasonal requirements that they must achieve. If they fail to do so, they will earn negative points.
This module comes with 6 new cards that include 12 new seasonal objectives, as well as 2 Garden Hat Tokens that each player will use to hide their secret objective from their opponent.
If we can reach the $45k mark, these new cards will be added for free to all backers!
Earth Day Celebration + Solo Mode Stream
Mark your calendars! Earth Day falls during the end of our campaign and we're partnering with the very talented Banzainator for a Twitch stream of our Solo Mode for Garden Club!
Nothing But Net My pal Hafiz launched his incredibly fun two-player basketball game today called Nothing But Net! I have played it a ton and even recorded a how to play video on it. If you're a sports fan like me, I think this would be solid fit for you.
Unearth: 10th Anniversary Edition Our pals at Brotherwise launched a reprint of Unearth today!
Headliner We are only a couple of weeks away from launching Headliner on BackerKit! We are going to have more freebies for returning backers in that campaign, and also will have some crossover content with other creators who are participating in Pocketopia. I'll share more details once they're finalized and our campaign goes live on May 7th.
We'll have a promo card pack with some character illustrations from our previous games available. This promo pack will be included for free for any returning backers. We're exploring the option to ship the Headliner campaign and Garden Club campaign together to save shipping costs as well.
That's it for now! Let's end the final days strong!

Hello cultivators!
Happy Friday and I hope you have fun weekend plans. Did you know that tomorrow (Saturday 4/11) is National Board Game Day?! Let me know in the comments how you plan to celebrate. I am hoping to play one of my newer games, Stonesaga, as well as Harvest and/or Vantage. I love these games!
🌷 Wildflower Poll Results - Tulips Win!
This was such a CLOSEpoll! Tulips won out by a couple of votes, so these 3 cards plus 6 wild tokens will be unlocked once we hit our next stretch goal at $40,000. Here's a look at those cards and what they bring to Petal:
Interviews!
I (as well as our game designers) have done several interviews about the process. If you're interested to learn more about how Garden Club and Petal came to life, I highly suggest checking these out!
We've got 1,604 followers on the campaign, which is so cool! Our aim with these planned Stretch Goals is to bring additional replayability to our backers at no additional costs to you.
So, if you're on the fence, now is a perfect time to take a leap and support the campaign if you wish! We're a small squad, so you're support really does make a huge difference for the future of Chris Couch Games 😊. Y'all are the best!
🎸 In case you missed it, we announced our next project, Headliner, will be launching on BackerKit on May 7th! You can follow that project if you're into cards games and rock 'n roll.
🚛 Convention Season - Where to Find Us
I'm gearing up for convention season, and I'm so thrilled to share that Chris Couch Games will be a vendor at Geekway to the West in May, Origins Game Fair in June, Gen Con in July/August, and PAX Unplugged in December!
Would you be interested in event at Gen Con if we hosted some plays of Garden Club, Petal, or any of our other titles?
You will also be able to play Garden Club and Petal at AdventureCon in Arkansas this June! It's an amazing convention, and I hope to attend for a day if I can make it work. Let me know if you're planning to be there.
Enjoy your weekend, Kick Back and Play!

Hello fellow green thumbs!
We'e officially unlocked our next Stretch Goal, the Power Tools Promo! By passing $35,000 raised, these new four Tool Cards add a cool dynamic to the Garden Club with some game breaking actions. They'll be delivered to you for FREE within the Kickstarter Extras pack that comes with your pledge. For more details and card images, check out this previous update.
Also, thanks for all your votes in our last update. It was pretty clear that the Watering Can won by a landslide! This Tool Card will also be added to the KS Extras pack for all backers. When we can get to 600 backers, I'll add another Tool card to the Promo Pack for all backers!
Vote on our next Stretch Goal
Now it's time for our next Stretch Goal: Petal Wildflower Cards. I read through the comments and picked the flowers that were mentioned the most by you! These 3 cards will be added to the KS Extras pack once we hit $40,000 raised. Use the poll below to let me know what flower you'd like to see added to Petal.
These wildflowers ONLY count towards creating your central pattern goals. So they can be very beneficial if you get multiples of them out in the same round!

New Game Announcement: Headliner heads to BackerKit on May 7!
I'm so thrilled to announce our next game, Headliner! This is a card game all about building a band through card drafting, touring the city by moving your van to different locations, and stealing the spotlight trying to earn $100 first and win the game!
We're launching as part of the Pocketopia event at BackerKit. It's been so fun to work wtih Jaedon Johnson (game designer) and Blake Barnes (artist) on this. Obviously, you're here for Garden Club. But if you're looking for a new, fun card game please check out out and follow our project if it peaks your interest 🙂.
Thanks again for your support. YOU are the reason why we love to make games and build this community. Until the next update, Kick Back and Play!
